Beta Film’s “A BETTER MAN” and “REBOUND” selected in competition for Canneseries

Directed by Thomas Seeberg Torjussen and produced by Maipo Film for NRK, Official Competition entry A Better Man (4x1h) tells the unconventional story of Tom, a middle-aged misogynist and internet troll forced to hide in women's clothing. What begins as a desperate bid for survival evolves into an eye-opening journey as Tom discovers empathy, intimacy, and unexpected new possibilities. Addressing online harassment, gender roles, cancel culture, A Better Man leads us on a surprising path from hatred and isolation to intimacy and reconciliation. A Better Man will celebrate its world premiere on Sunday, April 27 at 3pm with the screening of episodes one and two in the prestigious Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière in attendance of cast and crew.
The Norwegian drama Rebound (20x30’), produced by Fenomen Studios, provides an intimate glimpse into the emotional roller-coaster that is love, heartbreak, and self-discovery in your mid-twenties. Set entirely in the main character’s bedroom, the series will premiere with episodes one and two in the Short Form Competition on Sunday, April 27 at 2pm in the Auditorium Jean Mineur in attendance of cast and crew.
