Beta’s hit movie cycle Murder by the Lake breaks records with by far the highest viewership of the day on German television: Over 7.5 million viewers tuned in to watch the latest instalment of the crime drama, achieving the highest ratings in years and surpassing a market share of 30% on ZDF for the first time. Murder by the Lake also resonated strongly with the younger audience group (14-49), attracting 480,000 viewers, resulting in a market share of 9.8 percent.

German homicide inspector Micha and his Austrian partner Luisa investigate murders that cross borders. Zipping across the stunning landscape of Lake Constance, rich in color and crime, the latest instalment Murder by the Lake – The Medusa deals with the case of a female body washed ashore on Lake Constance. When the victim’s nephew goes missing, the case turns very personal for Luisa.
