The success continues: The Swarm wins primetime in France

The Swarm has captured its next big catch, winning prime time in France with 3.2 million viewers and a 15.4% market share on France2. The gripping ecol-thriller enchanted audiences in Germany, Spain and Austria earlier this year and will be available in the UK on Sky Max later this summer. 

Celebrating its World Premiere at Berlinale in 2023, "The Swarm" (8 x 1h), captivated millions of fans across Germany during the ensuing broadcast run. The Frank-Doelger “(Game of Thrones”) exec-produced thriller attracted a linear audience of 6.8 million viewers on ZDF and additionally amassed over ten million views on ZDF's digital platform within the first twelve days. With an impressive overall TV market share of 24.4%, and 11.7% in the younger target group (14-49 years), "The Swarm" dominated prime time in both viewer segments. Commending a similar success in neighbouring Austria, the eco thriller won a prime time with a market share of up to 23%. 

France 2 will broadcast two episodes of the Cécile de France starrer each Monday until June 26th, while the whole series is now available on the France TV platform.

The eight-hour high-end show is produced by Schwarm TV Productions GmbH & Co KG, a joint venture between Intaglio Films and ndF IP for ZDF, France Télévisions, Rai Fiction, Viaplay Group, Hulu Japan, ORF, SRF, in co-production with Bravado Fiction and Beside Production, in co-operation with ATHOS KG. Beta Film and ZDF Studios handle world sales.
