MIPTV: Beta Film has made a number of sales here in Cannes for its returning scripted series, which include Swedish spy thriller Agent Hamilton and Norwegian young-adult drama Rod Knock.

Agent Hamilton – New Missions sees international spy Carl Hamilton go undercover once again. The 4×120’/8×60’ series has been picked up by MHZ in the US, TV2 in Norway, DR in Denmark, NPO for the Netherlands and Syn for Israel. The series, based on the characters and novels by Jan Guillou, is produced by Dramacorp Pampas Studios in coproduction with TV4, C More, Beta and ZDF.

Coming-of-age drama Rod Knock (24×30’) is back for a third season, produced by Fenomen and Storyline Studios for NRK, and is travelling to France Télévisions and Israel’s HOT.

Beta has also landed new sales for French-Canadian thriller The Wall (25×60’), which is back for a third run. The Wall – The Orchard (8×60’) sees Detective Sergeant Celine Trudeau return to her childhood home to face up to an event from her past, the murder of her cousin and her best friend.

Produced by Quebec-based Pixcom, the show has been picked up by GSN for the US, Cosmopolitan TV for Spain, NBC Universal Global Networks for France and Safe Media for the Middle East and Africa.

Beta has also closed deals all over Europe and beyond for Spanish Movistar+ originals La Fortuna, from Oscar-winning director Alejandro Amenábar, and You Shall Not Lie, from The Red Band Society co-creator Pau Freixas.

Both series have been sold to Italy’s Rai and to HBO for HBO Max in Eastern Europe, Benelux, the Nordics, Netherlands and Portugal, among other territories.

In addition, You Shall Not Lie was sold to RTL Deutschland, where it will premiere on its streaming platform RTL+ this spring. In France, the drama has been picked up by M6 with an exclusive window for its joint-venture SVoD platform Salto.

Antenna TV secured rights for Greece and Cyprus, as well as Blue TV for Turkey.

La Fortuna has been picked up by Sky Deutschland for Germany, SBS for Australia and AMC for Portugal.
