“Maxima” enchants Canneseries’ audience

Munich/Cannes, 11 April 2024. Love is in the air at the French Riviera: Beta Film’s and Millstreet Films’ royal drama Maxima has celebrated its World Premiere at Canneseries this week. Argentinian star Delfina Chaves (Máxima), her co-stars Martijn Lakemeier (Crown Prince Willem Alexander) and Elsie de Brauw (Queen Beatrix), directors Saskia Diesing, Joosje Duk, Iván López Núñez, writers Marnie Blok and Ilse Ott and producer Rachel van Bommel, brought the glamour to the Pink Carpet of the Festival on Tuesday night before the screening in the prestigious out-of-competition section. Afterwards, the team was celebrated with a minutes-long standing ovation by the audience in the famous Grand Auditorium Lumière.

Maxima will be available on Videoland starting from April 20 and is produced by Rachel van Bommel of Millstreet Films, in co-production with FBO and Beta Film, with the support of the Dutch Film Fund Production Incentive, the Creative Europe MEDIA program, and the Belgian Tax Shelter. The series is based on the book 'Máxima Zorreguieta: Motherland' by Marcia Luyten, published by De Bezige Bij.
