Beta Film’s high-profile Turkish crime drama “Persona” returns for a second season, French remake for M6 underway

The critically acclaimed crime drama Persona starring International Emmy® award winner Haluk Bilginer is returning for a second season. Praised by media as “entertaining, challenging, slick, and expressive” (TAGESSPIEGEL Berlin), Beta Film has sold the Ay Yapim production successfully around Europe and oversees to the US, Canada, and Japan.

Meanwhile, production of a French adaptation is underway: Mémoire Vive (4x1h) will be led by internationally acclaimed actress Clémentine Célarié (Six Women, Betty Blue, Two Is a Family), who plays Esther Lefevre, the reinterpreted female protagonist.

Produced by CaltSTUDIO for M6, Mémoire Vive is written by Laurent Burtin (Astrid: Murder in Paris), Anne-Gaëlle Daval (Ladies), and Hélène Lombard (Call My Agent!). The series will be directed by Arnaud Malherbe (Moloch, Chefs, Rictus), while shooting is scheduled for the first half of 2024.

Haluk Bilginer, the renown Turkish star, has been awarded with the International Emmy® Award for his performance as Persona’s antihero Agâh in 2019.
In the second season, Agâh, who suffers from Alzheimer, regains his memories piece by piece when his daughter takes him into her care. And while Agâh is looking for a way to handle his new-found freedom, he doesn't realize yet that he has made some powerful enemies who yearn for revenge.
Persona (22x1h) is produced by Ay Yapim. Season 1 is produced for Puhu TV, season 2 for Gain.

Beta Film handles international sales for both series.
